The good folks at the Association of Former Students must be working overtime! We're happy to report that the forums are once again available. They are taking steps that hopefully will prevent a recurrence of this problem.

Unfortunately, the forums are down temporarily once again due to a problem with the Association of Former Students' database server. They are looking into possible causes for this repeated problem (apparently it's with another site hosted by their server). We hope they will be able to resolve it shortly, but it may be Monday before they are able to fix it. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we thank you for your continued patience!

We've added a new forum for the Outlaw Legacy Foundation. If you would like to see an all-outfit association established, even if you're not currently able to commit to a leadership role, this forum is the place to talk about it. If you have an idea for a scholarship, grant, etc., to benefit current Sq.8 cadets, even if you yourself don't yet know of a way to fund it, this forum is the place to share your ideas.

We've also added a new forum for wives of former outfit members to get acquainted, keep in touch, etc. (So far none of the female Outlaws have gotten married that we know of.)

In addition, we've uploaded the rest of the reunion photos we've received, and we've begun to add captions (including names) and photo credits.

The reunion photos we've received so far have been posted to the new 2007 Reunion page in the Photo Gallery. Names, captions, and credits will be added soon. We apologize for the delay--a family emergency prevented us from getting the photos posted sooner. We still need help identifying many in the photos, so if you can help us, please let us know.

If you have any photos or stories of the reunion, please send them to us so we can put them here on the Web site. We took a number of photos ourselves, and we've already received some photos from others. We'll be posting them over the next week or so, or as long as people keep sending them to us. We'll also be asking for help in identifying people in the photos that we post, so be sure to watch the Photo Gallery for updates.

We've made progress with getting the outfit directory online. We had hopes that we might have it up before the reunion this coming weekend, but because of the server problems, we're unable to do any testing until that's resolved.

In our ongoing effort to ensure that the forums are as secure and spam-free as possible, we have changed two of the forums. Previously, guests (those who are not registered or logged in) could read but not post in the Parents' forum, and the Help forum was open to both reading and posting by guests. Due to the recent attempt of a spambot to register for the forums, we have made the Parents' forum registered-only for both reading and posting, and the Help forum is now read-only for guests. If you have difficulty in registering or logging in, please contact us. We would also like to get your feedback about the forums, so that we can improve them and make them more inviting, enjoyable, and easy to use for all former and current outfit members as well as parents of current cadets.

The Photo Gallery is sporting a new feature, Corps and Major Unit Staffs. So far, we have just names (and not all of those yet), but we'll add photos as we can get them scanned. Once we get the photos in, we'll have to split this into several pages, as we have done with other photo features. We're still missing quite a few names and positions, so any additional information you can provide will be welcomed.

The forums are back up! The Association of Former Students, who graciously hosts this site and our forums, had a problem with the database server (where the forums reside), so the forums were down since Monday evening. The problem is now resolved, and the forums are once again available. Thank you for your patience!

Many more all-outfit photos have been uploaded to the Photo Gallery. We had to break the page into six (one page per decade) because a single page took too long to display. We need individuals' names for the years from 1949-1956 and for 1981-82. The lists of names we do have will be uploaded as time permits. We'll also rescan and upload the remaining outfit photos when we can again arrange access to the yearbooks.

In addition, we're in the process of making page navigation easier. You'll notice the clickable page paths at the top of each page, below the menu bar. These are called "breadcrumbs" (think "Hansel and Gretel"). They help you to find your way back "Home". We've also added directional arrows to help you navigate more easily between pages of a photo series.

Be sure to check out the photos, and see whether you can help us with the "who, what, when, where, why, and how" of any of them. We have a new feature in the Photo Gallery. We've started an online outfit scrapbook. To begin with, we're posting photos from the Aggieland yearbooks and from former outfit members, and we'd like for you to help us with the names, places, and events in these photos, as well as the stories behind the photos. We've set up a Scrapbook Notes forum especially for this purpose.

Another page in the series of past outfit COs, XOs, and 1st Sergeants has been added to the Photo Gallery. This page is from the 1994-95 to 1996-97 school years. The last page, for the 2003-04 to 2006-07 school years, will be uploaded once we receive permission from the holder of the copyright on the photos.

If you haven't already received these by email, we don't have your current email address (or they were caught in your spam filter).
